Manga & Cosplay Festival

Manga and Cosplay Festival

September 7 and 8, 2024 - 10 am to 5 pm

On 7 and 8 September, the Manga and Cosplay Festival will take place again in the Japanese Garden.  Then the Japanese Garden will be all about your favourite superheroes, manga and anime characters, and video game characters.

During the Manga and Cosplay Festival, the magic behind these characters comes to life in the Japanese Garden. Whether you are dressing up for the first time or are a seasoned cosplayer, everyone is welcome to join in the activities this weekend. And just like the rest of the season, admission to the Garden is free for visitors in cosplay.

Cosplay fans gather in the Japanese Garden to share their passion with the public. There really is no better place, as even the term cosplay, a combination of the words "costume" and "play", comes from Japan. Also, many of the most popular costumes are based on Japanese media.

True to tradition, this year there will also be a catwalk in the Garden where cosplayers can show off their costumes. The Japanese Garden is also one of the most beautiful photo locations in the summer. From the Ceremonial House to the warm summer sun, the Japanese Garden transforms itself into a large set to shoot the most beautiful pictures on.

Performances and sales for this event can be requested starting from June 1st via japansetuin@hasselt.be
