Japanese Garden for schools

Applications for a guided group tour must be made at least
14 days before the date of the visit.

The Japanese Garden in Hasselt is the place to be to discover and experience Japanese culture up close.

What is there to see and do?

Take the free walking guide at the entrance and walk over the zigzag bridge and the stepping stones along the dragon's gate waterfall towards the teahouse. Go through the ceremonial house and over the bridge to the pebble beach to feed the koi.

Stop at the shinto altar, bow, clap and give thanks or make a wish and hang it up. In the Japanese Garden, visitors' wishes are collected to be burned during Tanabata or Festival of Wishes.  Feel free to ring the peace bell afterwards.
