Since the founding of the Japanese Garden two books have been written about it. The first book was written in 1992 and includes multiple pictures and explanations about the construction of the Japanese Garden.

Our new book is available at the tourism center of Hasselt or at the reception desk of the Japanese Garden. This book elaborates on the symbolism of the Japanese Garden and provides a lot of referencing material to the buildings and gardens in Japan that formed the inspiration for our Garden.
The softcover version is €15 and the hardcover is €19.

SIGHT AND SCENES OF JAPAN
'Sight and scenes of Japan' is a photography book by Marc Popelier, a Belgian with a passion for Japan, with some astonishingly beautiful pictures of Japan.

Our own Sake Masu!
Masu are traditional Japanese glasses to drink sake from. Traditionally masu have a volume of 1go or 180ml and is the masu filled to the brink with sake. If you then accidentally spill some sake it is seen as a sign of good luck.
