A Japanese Fall in Hasselt, the Chrysanthemum Festival
The Japanese Garden of Hasselt is celebrating the Chrysanthemumfestival (Kikumatsuri) from 13 till 21 October. When the green summer leaves change their colour to red, yellow and green, and the chrysanthemums bloom paining the fields in their magnificent colours, fall is upon us. The Chrysanthemum is a flower that spans the globe and connects our little Belgium and the country of Japan. That is why, the Japanese Garden of Hasselt, celebrates this little flower every year in the Japanse tradition of the Chrysanthemumfestival.
Let your senses be moved and join us in admiration for the wonderful chrysanthemum creations of 'Floral Designer' Tom de Houwer. The first weekend of the festival, October 13th and 14th, come marvel at the pristine flower artwork at an Ikebana exhibition created by the 'Ikenobo Holland Chapter'. And lastly, every Saturday night, October 13th and 20th, the Chrysanthemumfestival will party through the night until 23h, so join us and be amazed.
