Backstage/ Frontstage exihibtion in Hasselt Fashion Museum
From 22 September untill 17 March 2019
The Backstage/Frontstage exhibition offers a glimpse behind the scenes of a fashion show. Backstage, the place that the public rarely gets to see, is
where the magic starts: models, stylists, make-up artists and designers are united in one creative hub, all working towards the start of the show.
The backstage images of the Limburg photographer Marleen Daniëls (1958) form the starting point of the exhibition.
Daniëls’ mainly analogue photographs date from the period 1988-2008. They are unique memories from a time in which fashion shows were only accessible to a select audience. Using video, photography and silhouettes from leading designers and fashion houses such as Dries Van
Noten, Yohji Yamamoto, Dior and John Galliano you will be guided through the backstage world.
